Long Haul Big Hearts Productions (LHBH) is a documentary production company, started by award-winning producer, Joanne Jackson. It made its debut in 2006 with its first documentary of the same name. Since then, it has been producing poignant and popular documentaries seen and loved all over the world in theatres, on television and on streaming platforms including Netflix, Crave and HBO in Canada. Currently, LHBH productions has projects in development with Ontario Creates, Telefilm Canada and CBC/CMF.

About Founder/Owner Joanne Jackson
Joanne Jackson is an award-winning, non-fiction film and television producer. Lead production credits for the award-winning feature documentaries The Woman Who Loves Giraffes (2018-19) and The Messenger (2015-15) also go to Joanne. Her career spans over 20 years throughout which she has produced or co-produced a wide spectrum of thought-provoking and mesmerizing content, which is globally highly acclaimed.
2017: Filming in Washington D.C. at the Women’s March for The Woman Who Loves Giraffes.
She has four award-winning documentaries, including The Big Wait (2010) and Long Haul Big Hearts (2007) plus hundreds of hours of factual television programming to her credit. She has worked and consulted on unscripted projects, news, lifestyle and design shows and children's programs to name a few. Jackson has run successful outreach/impact campaigns, managed publicity and marketing for productions and produced TV gala events.
She is comfortable and skilled at working with all sizes of budgets. She is also a mom, a stepmom and a nature lover. She likes to explore stories from the north and loves reading books about the role of women in World War II. Her nightstand is a book haven. She has a pooch named Tele, named after her partner’s favourite guitar - the Telecaster. She loves to travel and combining work and travel is the ultimate for her.
